Moonstones And Opals

Moonstones And Opals

Moonstones And Opals

For this piece I used rainbow moonstone rounds, Peruvian opal rectangles and ovals, amazonite orbs, black onyx square donuts, Swarovski crystal beads and sterling silver findings. These are my favorite stones and the colors just look GREAT together!

I have been making jewelry on and off most of my life and it is my art and my "happy place". I have another business which is high stress to say the least! (I am an independent Compliance Consultant for the States of WA and NV) and a bad day goes away really quick when I play with my "pretty rocks" and create something beautiful!

I didn't have the funds to invest in photo equipment when I first started such as photo tents so to take this picture I used a simple tupperware container and a frosted piece of glass (actually a shelf from my computer desk!) placed over the top and used a lamp on the side where I wanted the most light to show and arranged the jewelry on the glass. I used a digital camera on 1.1 for a smaller file size and the close up setting and I arranged a candle and some silk grape leaves to get this effect. I edited the photo with Mircosoft Office Picture Manager. I LOVE the auto correct button!) All of these items were things I had laying around the house! It is AMAZING what a little creativity and initiative can do!
