Turquoise Wire Wrapped Cuff

This simple turquoise wire wrapped cuff was easy to make. I started by making an uneven zig-zag pattern for the base using 16 gauge silver plated wire. Then to work-harden it, I hammered the wire zigs zags and spirals, this strengthens the base and makes it more stiff. Next, with 24 gauge silver plated wire I just went back and forth across the top adding turquoise beads then wrapping around the base a couple of times and continuing doing this until I am satisfied with the look.

Using a variety of different size and shaped turquoise beads gives this piece a lot of texture and adds interest, and because there are not a lot of beads this cuff is also light to wear.
